Mid Florida Cardiology Specialists has a nuclear medicine department where non-invasive tests are performed. Our practice utilizes a small amount of cardiolite during our nuclear stress tests to determine if your heart muscle is getting the blood supply it needs. After a small amount of Cardiolite is injected into your blood, our nuclear camera takes pictures of your heart.
A stress test with cardiolite usually consists of two phases: The first phase is while you are at rest, and the second phase is after you exercise when on our treadmill. A different approach is utilized for patients that can not exercise, so that we may obtain the same results.
Cardiolite is a radioactive material that is safely cleared from your body.
You may choose to have this test at any of our three locations.
