Coumadin Clinic Services

Mid-Florida Cardiology Specialists offers a personal one on one clinic to our patients who are taking Coumadin, which is also known as Warfarin or Jantoven. Coumadin is an anticoagulant medication prescribed for patients to reduce the risk of their body forming a blood clot, which can lead to a heart attack, stroke or even death.

Patients on Coumadin must have frequent blood test, called PT/INR to assure their blood remains within the proper clotting time. Our Coumadin clinic offers the PT/INR test via a simple finger stick rather than a venous blood draw. We offer our patients immediate test results and dosing instructions on the same day appointment. In addition, we provide personalized:

  • education regarding Coumadin
  • the side effects to be aware of when taking Coumadin
  • the side effects when the clotting time is not properly clotting
  • awareness of food and other medications that can affect the test results

The patient’s next appointment is scheduled before they leave our office therefore offering continuity of care. We provide a Coumadin clinic in each of our three office locations in a comfortable and caring environment. Our clinic staff is highly trained and offers exceptional patient service.
