The Aquilion 64 Slice Cardiac CT non-invasively provides high quality images of the coronary arteries allowing physicians to accurately diagnose coronary artery calcification and blockages often avoiding the need for invasive procedures such as cardiac catheterization. In addition, it provides the evaluation of cardiac pumping function in a single exam. The 64-Slice CT scan is also used to obtain images of the carotid arteries (a cause of stroke) and peripheral vascular circulation including the abdominal aorta (aneurysms), blockages in the kidney arteries (a cause of hypertension) and the leg arteries (a cause of pain with walking).
