Since 1987 Mid-Florida Cardiology Specialists has utilized a Practice Management software to record and manage our patients’ office visits. In March 2004, we embarked on a mission to implement an Electronic Health Record software that would allow our healthcare providers unfettered access to our patients’ health records. As a result, we now function in a completely paperless environment that allows our Physicians instant access to our patients medical records at anytime from anywhere in the world via the internet.

- Increased Security. Patient confidentially is protected by closely guarded access and strict HIPAA compliance.
- Increased Efficiency. Important information such as prescribed drugs, medical conditions and other aspects of your medical history -- can be accounted for much more quickly. An electronic file can save time spent in the office because it allows us to prepare for your visit and manage your time more efficiently.
- Life Saving. Quick access to your records can be lifesaving if an emergency occurs and critical information is needed during the emergency decision-making process when in the hospital.
- Faster Records Transfer. Copies of you records can be transferred to your PCP, Referring Physician, or any Emergency Room in the world by e-mail or fax with just a few mouse clicks. Your test results can now be expedited to your primary care physician with greater speed after you complete your test
- Electronic Prescription. Prescriptions can now be filled or refilled directly from within your electronic file and sent to any pharmacy of your choice.
- Medication Management. Ensured accuracy is dramatically increased as we select medications from a drug database. Any prescriptions are automatically updated in the patient's chart note. A drug utilization review feature is used to screen for potential drug therapy risks and print patient education information. Any potential drug-to-drug or allergic reactions are automatically flagged. In the case of a drug recall, the entire patient database can be searched for all affected patients in a few seconds.
